How you invest in a local farm: In Simple Terms How CSA Community Supported Agriculture Works (vid)

What is the Inland Empire CSA? from Diego Media LLC on Vimeo.

If you live in the San Diego region here's where you can get more information or get started: http://www.inlandempirecsa.com/

This is their beautiful organic farm. I get a box from Farmer Phil every other week. It's a food adventure, I now know how to cook Leek soup. They pick fruits and veggies fresh and it goes righ to your box that day. You can taste the difference and the texture is amazing. Have you ever tasted lettuce right out of the ground? Lettuce actually has flavor. The grocery store lettuce loses flavor in mass production farming and loss of freshness from the long trip trasporting long distance. Local farming, you can't beat it.

Looking out my window waiting for the tsunami

Luckily I'll be on a plane for higher ground in Denver! CNN reports a 8.9 earthquake in Japan has triggered a tsunami that will travel all the way the the West Coast impacting the Oregon Coast to California's Crescent City. So far San Diego is not in danger but as I look out the window of my home you can see how I'm a little nervous (pic below).
