Facebook Launches Messenger for iPhone - Take That Google+!

I like the concept of taking Facebook to the next stage, from a stream of social babble to a pure communications tool with meaningful and private discussions with people you stay in touch with. The new Facebook Messenger app touts group messaging to coordinate meeting up with friends on-the-go and has an optional locations feature to show where your at in each message. Looks like Facebook supports friendships IRL; I like it!

The push notifications give it a real chance of replacing or being comparable to IM and email. I was hoping this might include video but it doesn't. We'll have to wait n' see.
